And so it was that Penny found that, as well as being academically gifted, she had a body loaded with all the erogenous zones she’d read about and, it seemed to her, several more.
Penny began spending her time applying her new knowledge in one way or another, swimming her way through the population of boys from her bushwalking and tennis clubs, avoiding boys at school where trouble could lie, combining both of her natural gifts to get plenty of satisfaction whilst avoiding a reputation by explaining to the poor inexperienced and unknowing youth that not only would she spread rumours about his lack of prowess if she heard anything about their endeavours, but it would also mean no further opportunity would ever, ever be made available to him.
The first would be unbearable, the second, unthinkable.
She could have written a book about pubescent boys – what to get them to do for best effect, how to get them to gladly do it, how to disentangle yourself when they got too involved. Unfortunately there was not much call for providing this information in any of her exams. Her work-rate dropped to next to nothing and, as the year went on, she gave up any hope she would come in with the straight A’s to which she and her parents had become accustomed. On the day of the results, Penny saw she had passed each subject, but only just.
