I believe life comes down to some simple truths. Most of the time we forget these truths because we get so distracted by our day. Here is the second of three simple laws to live by.
2. Always speak your truth. Always accept nothing but the truth from others.
Yes, this one comes in two parts.
The first part, Always speak your truth, comes with some conditions. Remember to think about how your truthful message will be received. Is it likely to be hurtful? Then couch it in care and kindness. Is it likely to be a surprise? Then prepare the receiver in whatever way might let them in gently.
Always be tactful.
The second part, Always accept nothing but the truth from others, can sometimes be hard to take. But it’s better to know what’s going on, no matter how hurtful, than to be taken for a fool and to live a lie.
