You might wonder why a novelist blogs about how we think and behave. And why I’m currently working on a cookbook as well as publishing my first novel.
For me, our relationship to others and the world is infinitely interesting. I loved studying psychology and learnt heaps through following that interest in books, documentaries and other media. In addition, my own deep dive into my Self through counselling and short courses has been nothing short of perspective-shifting.
So I hope my little snippets of things I’ve learnt are helpful to you. My belief is that we need to identify, acknowledge and accept our ways of being, and embrace our new insights. Change is slow, and patience is critical.
The world gives us plenty of practice at honing our new skills, and sometimes our mistakes teach us essential skills in doubling down and keeping on trying.
My first novel is a labour of love, a tale which twists friendship, family, career ambitions and love into a wild ride of similar things you find here in my blog, in what I hope is an engaging and entertaining way. My main character begins in confusion and surfaces slowly. Reflecting the craziness of real life, we follow her through to a happy resolution. It’s due out this year.
I hope you look forward to its publication, as I do.
Will I publish my cookbook next, or my short stories compendium? That’s a decision I relish. My short stories are simple little snippets to entertain you. My cookbook will nourish you in a different way, with delicious, easy recipes that support good health.
What a wonderful choice!
