Mind Games 4: Final comments

Our brains really do work in mysterious ways, but it makes sense to me that it tries to do its best by us. It has so much work to do, and if we give it some “notes” to help it focus, it can serve us better.

I am a very terrified flyer, and a friend once told me before I was flying interstate for a project, “Come on, we’re buying you some travel crystals.”

“Some what?”

Now I don’t believe in crystals one way or the other, but I do know I felt better packing those crystals before each flight after that. They just calmed me down in some way. My brain hung onto that feeling because it felt better.

Recently I lost my sunglasses for a few days. I looked everywhere for 2 days. I got out my spare pair of non-prescription glasses (I don’t need lenses for driving), only to have one of the lenses pop out and disappear into thin air. I searched the entire driver’s seat but couldn’t find it anywhere.

One of my kids kindly offered to lend me one of theirs. It took us a while to select the pair, then I said, “I’ll find my others within the hour.”

“Really?”

“Yep.”

5 minutes later, I found them.
