After my green suede shoes experience, I started to pay attention to other ways in which our brain works mysteriously.
My mum swore by the method of gently banging her head on her pillow the number of times that equated to when she wanted to wake up. Bang it seven times, for 7 o’clock. This, oddly, does seem to work.
I also remember a study where they found participants who simply visualised shooting basketballs at goals improved at a similar level to participants shooting them in real life. This was covered in Psychology Today in 2018.
So prime your brain by thinking about what you want. See what happens, and be alert for opportunities.
