One minute read
Sometimes life gives us a big boot in the backside, and we know we have to reset our habits.
Maybe you’re sick of getting kicked out of rental properties and want to buy your own place. Or the doctor said you need to lose that wine habit. Or you have something you’ve always wanted to do but have been too chicken.
Knowing where you’re heading is the best place to start. Goal setting is often touted as the fix-all, but some of the explanations and instructions get pretty overwhelming.
Here’s some simple suggestions that might help you get a start.
1. Write yourself a goal
Don’t make it a big one. For me, I want to be a published author was a very grand idea, but Writing a short story was a goal I could achieve.
When you’ve achieved that small goal? Good, now you’re on a roll. Choose another goal, slightly bigger.
2. Read out your goal every day
Even if you don’t have time to work on your goal, keep it front of your mind. Stick it somewhere you can read it, say it, and get your brain primed for it. That gets your mind festering with ideas!
3. Imagine the result.
Close your eyes and imagine what it looks like to achieve that goal.
There are plenty of instructions on the internet on goal setting if you want to further your knowledge, but this way you can start to shift into the right lane. Tiny steps help!
Good luck!
